Cheryl (Talley) Johnson, Class of 1970

Teacher

I am a Permian High School graduate of 1970. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1974. In 2007-2008 I completed my 34th year of teaching. I taught at Gonzales Elementary in Odessa for 13 years and at Reagan Magnet School in Odessa for 20 years. I was a half day kindergarten teacher for 7 years, then taught 3rd grade for 9 years, and the remainder of my career has been teaching full day kindergarten at Reagan Magnet School. I love my Kinderbears!

I have been married to my husband for 34 years. We have two daughters who are grown and away from home. I love learning and will continue to be a life long learner. I can't think of anything I would rather do more than to teach young children. They are our future! What a privilege I have in being a small part of their lives.

Thank you to my Mom and Dad for giving me the opportunities that you didn't have. I will always appreciate your sacrifice. Love you always.

PS I'm learning how to do porcelain art. Painting on china is so much fun, and I have a great teacher, my mom!
